Western Sydney Airport is currently building a high performing Corporate Affairs team to build the profile of the airport and support the ongoing development of a customer focussed airport business. The Social Media and Content Manager is responsible for preparing and delivering the social media and content strategy for Western Sydney Airport, which includes the strategic management of social media channels, production and development of content and management of communities across all channels.

Reporting to the General Manager, Media and Government Relations, you will provide leadership and professional advice to the GM, the Executive and Board and help shape the digital strategy for the organisation.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities include:

1. Building WSA’s Social Media Strategy – provide strategic advice and services to support the Corporate Affairs team, Executive and WSA employees to build social-specific digital communications capabilities across the organisation.
2. Building WSA’s reputation and profile – lead a strategic approach to social media that ensures all platforms contribute positively to the reputation of the Western Sydney Airport construction project and future operations.
3. Evaluating and reporting – collaborate with the Manager Digital Solutions on the development and rollout of tools to evaluate the effectiveness of social media content and campaigns, and keep WSA’s Executive, staff and key external stakeholders, including Government departments, informed of the effectiveness of social media strategies. Employ these platforms to analyse and report on the reputation of the WSA project and brand based on social media listening intelligence.
4. Content – utilise digital video, image and audio production tools to develop, produce and edit content for social media channels that implements the social media strategy and supports the media and digital strategies.
5. Campaigns – work collaboratively with the Marcomms team to develop and execute social media campaigns to support project and business activities and help deliver on communication and business goals. Work with government agencies and industry groups to ensure appropriate representation of WSA projects in broader Western Sydney social media campaigns.
6. Channel management – provide leadership and guidance on the best social media channels to achieve positive outcomes with stakeholders, aligned with the media and digital strategies.
7. Community management – maintain a focus on brand, issues and reputation management in managing social media communities across all channels.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or in-house strong proven digital marketing and social media communication experience is an absolute must.

You will also have demonstrated high level ability to inform, influence and negotiate with audiences at a senior level and to effectively represent the WSA project and future airport operations using both written and verbal communication skills in the context of social media content creation and community management.
